📝 Job Description:

As a Housekeeping Aid – Environmental Services Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for veterans and their families at the VA Medical Center. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing a full range of light and heavy cleaning duties in patient rooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas.
  • Sanitizing and disinfecting surfaces to prevent the spread of infections.
  • Operating various cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and buffers.
  • Handling and disposing of waste materials appropriately.
  • Restocking supplies like soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
  • Reporting maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial services is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Other Requirements: Must pass a background check and meet all federal employment eligibility criteria.
